Version 4.0.2 update


Version 4.0.2 has been released.

Great news everyone, I actually figured out on how to package Tim Defense with the Pause Utilities extension (by SharkPool), you see, the other two versions were exported using PenguinMod Packager since I had trouble with the extension, the game wouldn't pause properly, the text "Pause" would appear but the game would keep going (albeit with the siren turned off), the text wouldn't disappear if you try to "unpause" it, this wasn't an issue with PenguinMod Packager, so I exported the game with it, at the cost of performance, you see, the game ran worse when it was exported with PenguinMod Packager than the versions exported with the standalone TurboWarp Packager, the framerate got worse and there were several bugs and glitches, but hey, at least the game could pause, right?
I was thinking about using PenguinMod Packager instead of TurboWarp Packager for future versions until I discovered that the extension would actually work if the pause button on top of the project was visible, so I packaged the game with the Pause button visible, albeit I added a block that hides the button, this meant that the game now has a side effect where a black bar on top is now visible thanks to this choice, but it didn't matter much, the performance returned to the way it was before the release of 4.0.0, but with the ability to pause intact (that required some changes to the code so it could work as intended), and best of all, most glitches are gone! However, there's the ocassional bug like the one where the bullet seemingly forgets that Tim has the skin on and reverts back to the default appearance (this was only supposed to happen when the player gets the Pac-Man power-up), but nothing self-destructive.
Now hopefully, you can play the game with better performance.
